Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen had a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the final game in three of the tournaments. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You may recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He raked in a big pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest bettors around the world. While wagering on internet poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He often competes in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Hansen frequently buys in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Hansen is a great poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is broke, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the game with the min buy-in.

Buying in for the minimum takes most of the skill out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the greatest players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amount. I think tv can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The best poker players in the world could be guys you have will not have heard of before. Gus can be found wagering on net poker on Full Tilt. He generally plays in big stakes Omaha and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his abilities in money rounds?
