Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the final table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a large pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has earned many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the greatest enthusiasts anywhere in the world. While playing internet poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. Gus frequently participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen more often than not buys in for the min of $16, 000 and gambles very poorly. He waits for a decent hand and then pushes all-in. I believe Gus is an outstanding poker player but not even close to the regular players at 200/400NL. Unless he is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to sit at the game with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes almost all of the skill out of deep stack poker. Hansen is accepted to be one of the best poker players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total dollar value. I think tv can alter our view of the real world every now and then. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen gambling on internet poker on Full Tilt. He normally competes in big stakes omaha hold’em and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in money rounds?
