No-Limit Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before his first birthday. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wished to pickup anything he possibly could about the game. Phil would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t allow the adverse comments from other people destroy his ambition of being one of the best poker players in the world.

He started playing seriously after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching experience and coming away with a win was not a common outcome at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he destroyed many of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s learning every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. Phil admits to making blunders every single session of poker and always aspires to get better.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some large tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a normal basis.
