Internet Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen

[ English ]

Gus Hansen experienced a wonderful year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to make it to the final game in 3 of the events. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might recall one of the largest pots in high stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen secured a large pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is thought to be one of the strongest bettors anywhere in the world. While gambling on online poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. Gus regularly participates in the 200/400 No Limit max buy-in of Forty Thousand dollars. Hansen frequently buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very weak. He waits for a good hand and then goes all-in. I accept that Hansen is an amazing poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is flat broke, he has little or no reason to settle at the game with the minimum buy in.

Buying in for the minimum takes most of the expertise out of deep stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the best players in the world but he can’t buy in for the total dollar value. I believe tv can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best players in the world could be players you have will not have heard about. Gus can be seen betting on net poker on Full Tilt. He generally participates in high stakes omaha/8 and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his talents in cash rounds?
