No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer grew up in a family of 5 where he liked playing various card games when he was young. He discovered himself becoming very competitive in the above-mentioned card games while playing his father. After finishing Sr. High school, Howard made a decision to put college on hold for a little while and moved away to New York City to compete in some serious chess. While playing chess, he was brought in to a poker game taking place in the back of the room. Howard’s first two years were rough as he would play extensive hours and fail to win most times. He earned some extra money by becoming an assistant for the poker enthusiasts. He judged he could improve his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He made an effort to acquire more rest and focus more on poker.

The actual improvement in his abilities began when he started playing at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the best players would frequently play against each other. Howard was able to access a few of the foremost players in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would tweak his logical thinking techniques. Howard applied these strategic concepts to the game of No-Limit hold’em.

Howard Lederer also helped his sister Annie Duke learn the game of poker. She was a superb student of poker as she would consistently be asking questions about how to make the proper decision. Howard told Annie to head out to Sin City and play in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie Duke is one of the best women players the poker arena has ever seen. Howard Lederer moved to Sin City in Nineteen Ninety Three and competed in money games for the following decade. When the WPT grew in popularity, Howard made the decision to compete in more tournaments.
