No-Limit Texas Holdem Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor on the globe by many of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the negative comments from others kill his goal of being one of the best poker players in the world.

He began competing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his game at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The first number of years for Phil were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed quite a few of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his skills to the next level and moved out west to Las Vegas. Phil continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Ivey credits his success to discipline and an eternal love for poker. Phil states that he’s learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes in each session of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has won some large tournaments, he favors destroying cash games on a regular basis.
