Mrs. Duke might not have earned her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until ‘04 but she remains one of the most feared poker players around the cash matches at The Bellagio in Las Vegas. Annie’s long-overdue World Series of Poker bracelet came with success at the "buried game" of Omaha hi low.
While players from the "younger generation" of poker run wild following a large win at the tournament, Annie heads home to be "mom" to her 4 children. She was born in New Hampshire and raised into a family of card competitors. If you don’t accept that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who taught her how to bet on the game.
However, Mrs. Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has captured her share of demanding tables, including eliminating Howard along the way on several occasions. They’re both competitors that have the capability to capture the huge $$$$$ and do it with a grin.
Annie is a strong competitor at any poker table due to the fact that she is a real poker player, but it’s a little more than just being good at the game. Annie is extremely smart and graduated from Columbia U where she took a double major in English and Psychology.
When you are seated across from Annie at the table you’ll see she is there to play the game and she begins "sizing" you up as soon as you join the poker table. If you can not bet like a Champion, then don’t bother.
Acquiring over $3 million in tournament competitions, Annie branched out to become a adviser to both the UltimateBet poker room and Hollywood actor Ben Affleck, who wished to enhance his skills and grow into a power at the poker table.
You will likely see her at the Bellagio, you’ll definitely observe Annie on television and you might even play against her in a net poker game, but do not count on an easy win. Except of course you’re a camp-in-the-making, you’ll not defeat her. However, it would be exciting to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
