I’ve been playing poker now for about five years, I’ve bet cards my entire life beginning with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various types of Brag and general random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so eloquently called, card on head game. I used to usually win, whatever game we were wagering and even though I liked to call it skill, it was quite tough to justify thinking about the randomness of the games we were playing, so I was happy to accept I was having a protracted run of good fortune.
Then came Poker, or much more importantly Texas holdem Poker, made famous by a group of Texas card players in the sixties and since grown into one of the largest card phenomena ever seen. Poker is totally the new black, it really is super cool with numerous of the world’s leading celebs racing to have their name connected with it. Just a quick flick through the TV channels these days and you can not escape from poker, and naturally there’s the fabled WSOP, the Holy Grail and Mecca all rolled into one for every single gambler.
So with all of this new discovered popularity, with so several Television shows dedicated to poker, and magazine and book shelves loaded up with quality material written by the leading minds on poker, when are persons going to understand that this casino game is all about position!?
Perhaps I should not have so worked up about this, after all the much more individuals who wrestle with the subtle techniques and methods required for winning consistently at Texas hold em, the far better it’s for everyone else, right? I mean, if they can’t be bothered to look at all of the offered data about why location is so critical, why really should we bother? We need to just be happy there is an additional fish at the table!
It is true, we need to not reward procrastination with advice and support. Nonetheless, I liken this to a helpful game of football.
